‘MasterChef’ season 6 video: Gordon Ramsay, Christina Tosi talk what lies ahead
While we are happy to see the return of “MasterChef” to TV Wednesday night, we do have to raise an eyebrow ever-so-slightly at the timing of it all. Why in the world would you decide to introduce a season against the “Survivor” finale? It just seems to be a bad move to limit some of your viewing audience, and then hope that the rest of the viewership finds you courtesy of the DVR.
So understandably, you may be watching something else tonight; but if you decide to come back over and check this show out, there are some things to look forward to. First and foremost, you have another addition to the judging panel! Christina Tosi is replacing Joe Bastianich, and she brings a different point of view than Graham Elliot or Gordon Ramsay. She is responsible for the famed Milk Bar in New York City, and is more experienced as a baker than either one of her other judges. This may lead to even more baking challenges than we have seen before.
The challenge with a new judge is of course keeping the level of chemistry there, especially since so much of the appeal of having Joe on the show was that he enabled Ramsay to actually be at times the nice guy. Joe was terrifying! Even interviewing him at times there was that natural intimidation. We get the sense that Christina will be tough, but will rightfully bring her own flair and judging style to the table.
Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to share our full take on this at some point very soon. Stay tuned for more of the latest!

I have been a big fan of Masterchef ever since the show where Christine, the incredible blind chef competed and one. Since that time I have watched every show shown by FOX on my satallite Dish Network. Tonight I watched the new 2015 episode. It was good…but…it really is missing something without Joe Bastianich. He brought a few special ingredients to the show which is definitely missing. I loved the way he exhibited class, style, passion and total honesty, When he hated a poorly prepared dish…he demonstrated where it belonged. It’s too early I suppose to tell if this new female judge will fill the hole he left…but tonight’s show was almost too bland. I’m sorry that I can’t remember the new chef’s name. I never heard of her before tonight,
