‘The Flash’ finale spoilers: Extended trailer shows Caitlin’s wedding, Barry meeting mom

The season finale of “The Flash” definitely looks to have its fair share of sad moments judging from the extended trailer below, but could it also have some happy ones? At the moment, we’re at least counting on it.

First and foremost, how about a Caitlin Snow wedding? This is happening in the finale! Somewhere in the middle of all the chaos, she and Ronnie Raymond find the room to get all dressed up and tie the knot. It’s too bad for Caitlin’s sake that this is also going to be the episode that features at least some hints about the Killer Frost storyline … mostly because this could really complicate things for any relationship when someone turns into a villain / antihero at best.

Comic fans are probably going to see a lot of Flashpoint Paradox in this trailer, given that Barry Allen could face an interesting question in the finale: What is he willing to give up in order to revive his mother? His entire life has been about getting justice for Henry, and he may now have a chance at that; however, at the same time there is also a chance that bringing her back from the dead could lead to far-reaching consequences for everyone else.

We already know for sure that this will be a sad episode in some way, given the possibility of death that exists here, or if nothing else, the chance that we lose the excellent Tom Cavanagh from the show. We hope that this doesn’t happen, but big bads typically only have a shelf life of a season. Sure, Malcolm Merlyn is still around on “Arrow,” but he had a much smaller role in season 2.
