‘American Crime Story’ spoilers: Malcolm-Jamal Warner joins massive cast

FX -The casting carousel for “American Crime Story” continues. This is a miniseries that already has aboard it the likes of John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, David Schwimmer, and a variety of other big names … not to mention executive producer Ryan Murphy, who has a knack for finding some huge stars at almost any turn.

Today, the latest addition happens to be someone we’ve seen recently on “Sons of Anarchy”: Malcolm-Jamal Warner. According to a new report from Variety, Warner has been brought on board for some sort of role of former NFL player  Al “A.C.” Cowlings. He is a friend of OJ Simpson’s who is known for driving the famed White Bronco. Warner has done more and more dramatic work lately, and we’ve found that to be by and large a really enjoyable thing to see out of him.

Now what we are still waiting for is something as simple as figuring out just when this show is going to actually premiere. Right now, we’re thinking late summer / early fall given the filming timeline, but FX does have a busy slate of shows coming. You have “American Horror Story,” “The Strain,” the second season of “Fargo,” and at some point in there could be Kurt Sutter’s new FX drama “The Bastard Executioner” depending on what is decided for it. There are also still the comedies and “Tyrant,” which is premiering a little bit earlier than most of the others.

If there are some other castings for the show at any point in the near future, we will of course do our part to let you know. Stay tuned!
