‘Ink Master season 6: Masters vs Apprentices spotlight: Chris Blinston vs Tyler Nolan

Ink MasterAre Tyler and Chris going to get tangled up in all the drama on this season of “Ink Master”? It’s looking like they may be the main players in the some of the fights, but that’s what happens when you have two incredible tattoo artists that also happen to know just how good they are. Ego’s have spawned some of the greatest fights we’ve seen on this show, but it has also produced some of our favorite tattoos (we will always love Joey Hamilton’s Catwoman tattoo… hands down our favorite of all time).

With most of the cast getting along fairly well with their Apprentice or Master, it makes Tyler and Chris all the more fun to watch out for this season. As we’ve said many times, “Ink Master” is not “Ink Master” without some knock down, drag out fights! That being said though, these two have a lot of skill between them and have a lot to bring to the table besides television entertainment gold.

The Master: Chris Blinston

Tattooing: He has been tattooing for 18 years and is an owner and artist at No Hard Feelings in Coral Springs, FL. His specialty is color realism and with there being so many other artists in the competition this year that also specialize in this, so it should make things interesting. He’s also an expert at full color saturation.

The Apprentice: Tyler Nolan

Tattooing: He has been tattooing for 10 years and is an artist at Vatican Tattoos in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He has strong line work skills, loves to work with bright colors and definitely has a big healthy ego behind his beautiful artwork.

Chris vs Tyler: Tyler thinks that having almost 20 years experience is a good thing, but also a bad thing as people get set in their ways and don’t always grow with what’s new. He thinks that Chris has some tricks up his sleeve, but that they are old tricks. There’s something to be said for new fresh talent in any artistic industry, but that being said there’s no reason why someone who has been tattooing 20 years can’t have fresh ideas too. The brain doesn’t stop creating after a certain age or experience level. This is a competition based on being able to do everything and that only comes from experience, so Chris might have the edge over Tyler in this one.
