‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Is there interest in bringing John Constantine on board?

Constantine -The big news that came out late last week when it comes to comic-book TV was that “Constantine” was getting canceled by NBC after just one season on the air. While there are some talks to potentially find the show a new home elsewhere, in the event that this does not happen, maybe there is still a constellation prize: Getting the show included into “Arrow.”

Speaking in a new interview with Variety, showrunner Marc Guggenheim did certainly make it clear that there is interest on his part in implementing the character into the DC universe that exists on the CW, especially since it has already been cleared for TV obviously with that series existing. Of course, it may be delayed somewhat given that there are still many weeks to go for “Constantine” to find a new home before the contracts expire:

“It would be wonderful and we certainly have a million ideas — it’s hard for me to say mainly because A: it’s not my decision to make and B: with ‘Constantine’ being shopped around to other networks… it’s really hard to make plans when a show’s kind of in limbo.”

Of course, our preference would be to see the show find a new home, even preferably with its own timeslot on The CW. That is something we’re still hoping for, even if the network’s ten-hour-a-week schedule is already extremely crowded. They don’t program past 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and nor do they program Sundays. What we also wonder is if the character does get brought into “Arrow” and its universe, could Matt Ryan still play the part? We hope so. We also like the idea that maybe Constantine’s presence could bring in some other magic-oriented characters such as Zatanna into the fold.
