‘Survivor: Second Chances’ officially season 31; fans will vote on returning players
We’ve talked quite a bit over the years about there being a “Survivor: Second Chances” sort of season where players from seasons past could return to play the game. However, we never quite had envisioned it like this.
Tonight, it was announced by the show that for the upcoming 31st season, fans will actually have the chance to really vote on contestants that they want to see on the show. This is going to be a way for fans to actually share there own thoughts on this, and get some fan favorites on the show. Here is what host Jeff Probst had to say in a statement:
“The idea of a ‘second chance’ season started brewing during our first season, the moment Kelly Wiglesworth lost to Richard Hatch in the summer of 2000 … Since their respective seasons ended, these players have been begging for another shot, and this is a fun way to allow our loyal fans to be involved in the creative process.”
You can take a look at the voting ballot here. We’re going to have some deeper analysis on some of these casting possibilities over the course of the next few days, so be sure to stay tuned for a little more of that. We’re still not entirely sure about how all of this works. Is it guaranteed that the top vote-getters will be on the show? We’re not entirely sure, since it feels to us like casting may need to get involved if there are, for example, no villains.
Also, of course we’ll be sharing what our personal votes are, as well. This is an interesting idea, and hats off to CBS for putting some contestants from early seasons on here like T-Bird or Kelly Wiglesworth. Also, it’s nice to see that the show is not rewarding people from this season like Dan or Will with a spot here after their terrible behavior. One other quick thought: Why is Kenny from “Gabon” getting the shaft? Probably one of our favorite players.

No. It has been mentioned elsewhere that Carolyn or Mike would be removed from the running should either win Season 30.

Based on the cast options from this season, are they giving away who didn’t make it to the final three??
