‘Chicago PD’ season 2, episode 20 review: Sophia Bush’s Lindsay deals with Nadia shocker

Lindsay -Tonight, “Chicago PD” went a little out of its familiar comfort zone and a familiar timeslot to deliver the second part of an epic crossover event, but one that has to be one of the most shocking ones of the entire season.

For some time now, we’ve learned that Erin Lindsay was going to be losing someone, and it would be a person who really ended up shaking her to her core and questioning her future. Somehow, we still did not expect it to be Nadia falling at the hands of Yates, and right before she really completed that journey to becoming a cop. There are many ways to handle adversity, and Lindsay may be struggling with this for a while.

Talking about this episode is in some ways still a little bit different, mostly because it is hard not talking about it in the context of “Law & Order: SVU” and both the characters and setting present there. It was rather interesting to get some background on Halstead’s brother Will, including a connection to Stabler from “SVU” from many years ago. Hey, it’s a Chris Meloni shoutout!

In the end, the team did manage to piece together enough clues that it led them to ultimately uncovering Yates, but not before he snatched Nadia up. She’s going to be buried with full honors, and treated like one of their own who passed. Still, this is a tragic move that will impact the entire team (most notable Sophia Bush’s character) much longer than we will see in this one eventual episode.

This was a little more focused a story than the “Chicago Fire” episode from last night, and it definitely does at least win an award for having us short of breath. Grade: B+.
