‘Blue Bloods’ season 5, episode 21 video: Will Frank turn in his badge?

The two-part season 5 finale of “Blue Bloods” is beginning on CBS Friday night, and there is already one question that you may be asking after watching the promo below: Are we nearing a situation where Frank could actually throw in the towel on the NYPD?

The first thing that stands out about the video below for this episode is that this sort of conflict that Frank (Tom Selleck) is dealing with is something that goes beyond even some of his deepest struggles. This is one that in many ways is completely inhuman. A police chief and his wife were gunned down in the street, and there is, at least at the moment, not much in the way of an adequate explanation. This places him into a position where he has to search frantically for answers, even though there may not be any this time. At a certain point, he may start to think that there is really no hope in his profession any more, and it is too much for him to bear.

The biggest thing to remember here above all else going into this episode is that you are probably not going to get any immediate answers. As a matter of fact, the show is airing this over two hours for a reason. Expect a cliffhanger (a rare thing for a mostly-procedural show) that will carry you into the exciting conclusion.

As for what the future holds for the show, it has not yet been renewed for a full season. However, we do believe with some confidence that it will be; it may not be a smash hit in the ratings, but it is consistent like nobody’s business.
