‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 20 video: Show boss on what Oliver does for Thea

Arrow -Tonight’s “Arrow” episode will be huge, and we know that many shows / writers tend to say this as hyperbole. It really will be huge. “The Fallen” is quite possibly the most important episode of the season so far, since it could transform Oliver Queen completely from the Arrow into the new Ra’s al Ghul. With this said, we should note that this is not even remotely a matter of his own choosing.

As executive producer Marc Guggenheim notes in the video below, this is all about what Oliver would do in order to bring his sister back to life. This means even sacrificing much of his own life, and becoming someone he never wanted to be. Maseo introduces the possibility to him, and he has little choice other than going along with it. He does not want any more blood of the Queen family on his hands. He recognizes at this point that he has a losing battle against the League of Assassins. There are way more of them than he has on his team, and these are not mindless idiots like Slade’s mirakuru army. There is no weakness here, and they could just continue to kidnap and kill those he loves until he submits.

Now that we know that Thea is most likely getting revived via Lazarus Pit, we come with another message: Please don’t do the same thing for Sara Lance. We obviously are glad that Caity Lotz has a new job on the spin-off show, but we’d rather have her as a new character. There has to be some sort of rule as to how the pit works, and she’s been dead a long time which means that decomposition has most definitely set in. Plus, it cannot be too easy to just revive anyone, and if it was we suspect that Oliver would instead be hauling the body of Moira or Tommy Merlyn over there.

To us, the biggest surprise is seeing Malcolm Merlyn actually go with Oliver over to Nanada Parbat. We always figured that he’d be far too much of a coward for that, but he is Thea’s father and he does love her in his own twisted way.
