ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4 spoilers: Evidence of cancellation – series finale mounts
Let’s be clear here that we are still rooting and hoping for “Revenge” to find a way to come back on the air for another season. The problem for the time being is that the more that we seem to hear about the possibility of this happening, the more nervous that we are about the show’s future.
Over the weekend, the first hammer dropped when an ABC promo strongly hinted that there will be no fifth season when it hinted that the final episodes of the season are ahead. (Watch here.) To go along with that, we now have some more news coming in from TVLine that suggests that the finale was written in such a way that there would need to be a huge “revamp” in order for a fifth season to even work. Our guess? The episode was written in some ways to be a fitting series finale, and they would handle a fifth-season renewal if or when it came. We imagine that the writers already had a good sense of the metaphorical writing on the wall when they were working on this.
If this season is the end of the road for “Revenge,” we hope that its legacy remains a thrilling primetime soap with some fun moments, and at least it was one that did not overstay its welcome. There were some weak parts and the show probably should have never revived David, but we have to say that the entire first season was really something special. Imagine where this show would have been had they kept that up.
Regardless of it the show is ending or not, we imagine that we will have way more needs in the days and weeks ahead. Be on the lookout!

It’s funny… I’ve been preparing myself for the show to end with this season but as the evidence mounts, I couldn’t help but find myself a little somber. Revenge was the sh** for at least 3 seasons and season 4 has been written in a way that really seems like a curtain call. I can’t help but remember my all time favorite promo of the show… Picture it, season one of Revenge… The promo – everyone being held at gunpoint by a crazy Tyler. That promo WAS and STILL is EVERYTHING! Farewell Revenge!

The writers have always said that they will write themselves in a corner, saying where could they possibly go from there?
