‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: How does Liz Keen move forward?

The Blacklist logo any seasonThe last time that you saw “The Blacklist” on NBC, you also saw one of the biggest surprises that the show has given us the entire series. There are not many other ways, after all, that you can describe an ending that revolves around Reddington being shot and in a near-death situation.

While it seems like James Spader’s character is going to live to see another day, that does not mean that things are going to be the same for him as they once were. There will be a change of dynamic when the show returns, as Red could end up being on the sidelines for a while. Add to this how little Liz cares about him in the sake of the Tom reveals, and we have a pretty terrible situation for the show’s primary villain.

Speaking to TVLine, here is what creator Jon Bokenkamp had to say on this particular subject:

“We pick up immediately, in the moments of the shooting. Dembe was being shot at, and Red’s bleeding on the ground, clearly wounded in a horrible way … [Red’s condition] creates a void, and Liz is going to have to step up and fill the space that is occupied by Red and work through this situation.”

We don’t imagine smooth sailing is in the future for either Liz or Red for quite a while, but eventually, these two characters are going to have to find a way to come back together. The entire premise of the show is at stake otherwise! We’ll have more as it starts to come out.
