‘The X Factor’ UK: Louis Walsh quits after 11 seasons

The latest news -

Maybe Louis Walsh saw the writing on the wall, or he just decided that he does not want to be a part of “The X Factor” anymore. Either way, it is now officially clear that he is not going to be coming back for a twelfth season. Walsh himself confirmed this news in an interview with TV3, explaining that he did get a sense producers wanted to make a change, and he also wants to return to doing some of the music managing that he first did for so many years before becoming a TV personality:

“I think I’m done with X Factor honestly. My day job is as a manager, I’ve kind of neglected that. I want to get back to being a manager. I’m working with Shane Filan, he’s got a new record coming out, and I’m working with Hometown. I’d like to get back to where I started off… I never wanted to be on TV, it just happened.”

It is probably the right decision both for Louis and the show. Simon Cowell has not been particularly kind to him since returning, and has at times honestly made him out to be a little bit of a joke. Meanwhile, Louis’ own advice to contestants has been getting progressively weaker, with him relying more and more on old cliches than he did in some of the earlier years.

There is already a major shakeup on the upcoming season, as we’ve learned already that Dermot O’Leary is not returning as host. Olly Murs, meanwhile, has confirmed that he is at least discussing the idea of taking this position alongside Caroline Flack on the upcoming season.

There have already been rumors about Robbie Williams joining the show as a judge for the upcoming season.
