‘The Amazing Race 26’ episode 7 preview: Aly & Steve face a flat tire in Namibia

A good many seasons on “The Amazing Race” give you an opportunity to see and enjoy Africa at some point, and based on the preview for the next two episodes airing in a week (the show is airing back-to-back episodes), this looks like it will be a pretty crazy journey.

For one, there’s a task involving animals! Anytime that happens, you know that there will most likely be a little bit of chaos. Mike of Mike & Rochelle is likely at a disadvantage here compared to the other men; he’s the least physical, and with the heat in the country, this could really start to take its toll. Some other teams could also have trouble, but it just depends on whether or they have the capacity to avoid mistakes. This means not doing what Aly & Steve do, and potentially blowing a tire on the side of the road. Typically race rules state that another will be brought for you, but that’s not always easy, especially if teams are in the middle of nowhere.

What is ultimately interesting in the end here is that we don’t think there is one consistent favorite to win the season. While the aforementioned Olympians are athletic, they’ve only won a single leg. Laura & Tyler have the potential to do well, but so do Hayley & Blair. Matt & Ashley may be a darkhorse team, mostly because they have a good relationship and know each other well.
