‘The Amazing Race 26’ episode 6 review: Suits and smells in Monaco

Amazing Race -It’s not often that you have a leg quite like the one that we had on “The Amazing Race 26” Friday night. This one was really fun! We have not seen much of Monaco as a location on the show, and it was fabulously opulent and thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. The racers dressed up in fancy suits, played roulette, and delivered chocolates and roses to go along with it. Add to this a really exciting finish, and we did not have much of an idea as to where teams were going to end up.

First and foremost, it looked like things were going great for Mike & Rochelle. They managed to use their skills to get standby on an early flight, and then they managed to do a good job of getting to the Detour on time. However, they were pretty bad in choosing the right Detour, as the more physical task seemed really quick to complete. They struggled with it, and left in last place. This is where we feel like them being an established couple helps. They were great with getting directions and being patient, and they managed to come back into third place because of it.

By some miracle, Hayley & Blair kept it together and were the top team tonight, which proves that if they get along, they are going to be tough to beat. The entirety of this leg was thrilling because we had no clue it would be Jeff & Jackie who came out at the bottom. They did a great job on the Detour, and while they didn’t have the best flight in, they didn’t have any other huge problems other than getting lost. Ironically, they were the only blind date couple with a real shot at romance.

Tyler & Laura, for those curious, got the blind date … but does that really matter? They’ve barely showed these!

While we have not loved the majority of the season, we really did think that this episode was a ton of fun to watch. We’re probably rooting for #TeamTruckStop, mostly because they are the underdogs at this point. With that being said, we are at least entertained with all of the teams. Grade: B+.
