‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 19 preview: Videos for ‘Beyond Borders’ spin-off pilot!

Criminal Minds -You’ve been hearing about “Beyond Borders” for weeks now, and on Wednesday night, the ambitious “Criminal Minds” spin-off is finally going to air. We have always professed to be an opinionated man when it comes to spin-off ideas; we’re not a fan superficially of the “Chicago Fire” one “Chicago Med” airing tonight, mostly because there are so many medical dramas out there already. However, what has us interested in “Beyond Borders” is that while there are many crime shows out there, there isn’t one that looks at problems for American citizens overseas. This is a different sort of idea, and there are many interesting stories that could come out of it.

Now, we’re here to present to you a pair of the just-released sneak peeks from this big episode, which will probably determine  whether or not this show gets a shot at 13+ episodes on CBS in the fall.

1. Meet Monty – Tyler James Williams (“The Walking Dead’s” Noah) is going to be playing Monty on the show, who is the man left behind while many of the agents are overseas tackling problems. As he explains, sometimes he loves his job; however, he often is the bearer of bad news. This is a great scene, mostly in that it gives you a sense of his philosophy on life, while also stating the difficulties of doing his job properly.

2. More on the case – We’re not nearly as big a fan of this preview. We already like Monty, so why not take advantage of the opportunity here to show us more of what Gary Sinise and Anna Gunn or doing? It just feels like a wasted opportunity to tell us more about a case, which we probably are not going to remember a few days after the episode ends.
