‘Arrow’ / ‘The Flash’ spin-off spoilers: Ciara Renee cast as Hawkgirl!

If you’ve been waiting to find out more information in regards to “Arrow” and “The Flash,” we are pleased to tell you today the following: We now know who is going to be playing one of the new characters coming on board!

Deadline was the first to report that Ciara Renee of Broadway’s “Pippin” is going to be playing the part of Kendra Saunders a.k.a. Hawkgirl, a woman who discovers that she is actually the reincarnation of a number of female warriors who came before her. She has a list of extensive powers that can come out when provoked, and they include massive wings that sprout out of her back. It’s a cool character, albeit a random one to come aboard a very random show already. So far, the cast list currently includes the likes of the Atom (Brandon Routh), Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), and an still-to-be-known character (possibly Sara Lance?) played by Caity Lotz.

It has already been hinted that the spin-off is going to bring in some characters who have not been featured on television before. Since Hawkgirl was briefly on “Smallville” and has been in many animated series, we presume that she is not one of them. Still a cool addition since she is a DC hero that some casual fans will have heard of at some point.

You’re going to be waiting a long time in order to see what this show looks like on the air. As of now, it is being pegged for midseason of the 2015-16 season. Given the success The CW had earlier this year, we wouldn’t be shocked if it was February or March 2016 before it premieres.
