‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 17 preview: Alicia Florrick, almost-rule-breaker

The Good Wife -Sunday night’s new episode of “The Good Wife” is the first since Alicia was named State’s Attorney, and what you are going to learn extremely quickly here is this: Alicia Florrick suffers no fools. She also suffers when it comes to not being able to get drunk in celebration.

1. Party poopers – You would think that Alicia would able to pop a bottle to celebrate an exhausting few months of running for State’s Attorney; heck, having to deal with Guy Redmayne alone seems to be cause enough to get completely blasted. Yes, in true “Good Wife” fashion, nothing is that easy. Alicia learns here quickly that she cannot accept gifts past a certain dollar value at her own party, and she therefore is going to have to go buy something herself if she wants to booze up.

2. A conversation – Wait, could we ACTUALLY have a scene with Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi in the same place again? If the show does this finally, we may start running around our humble office screaming and doing the warm while having various objects fall on our head. It’s been forever now, writers. Make this happen.

3. Eli freaks out – You gotta love Eli for his strategy sessions. In this sneak peek, he spends a good minute and a half ranting to her about the value of pandering. You NEVER say no to anything! This is at least how he recommends that she deals with Redmayne, who huffs and puffs like a big, bad, and very old wolf about who he wants her to work with, while spontaneously doing extremely perverted things in the process.

Redmayne just wants to feel important, according to Eli. This is something that she is going to have to work on a little while longer if she wants it to stick.
