‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4 finale review: A wedding, a proposal, and a baby

Hart of Dixie -While we don’t know what the future may hold for “Hart of Dixie,” we do know one thing after watching the season finale Friday night: It definitely felt like it was planned to be the end of the series, in the event that The CW decided to drop the guillotine.

Just think for a minute about all of the big developments that took place here over the course of the hour: Lemon and Lavon got actually engaged after the first engagement turned out to be luck on his part, George and AnnaBeth debated their future, and Zoe decided that she wanted to marry Wade while she was about to give birth. They had the boy without any complications, but they couldn’t figure out what they wanted to name him for the time being. Well, “TBD” is good for now.

There were actually a number of other moments here that made us feel like the show was at an end, from a musical number at the end to reminders of the pilot, including why Zoe was in BlueBell in the first place following in the footsteps of her late father. She also became a partner at the office for the first time.

This episode was a pretty perfect end to the series, at least if it was the end of the season. It wasn’t too heavy, and in the end focused mostly on positivity and happiness. It was a reminder of why we loved it, and how we’re going to miss this crazy place moving forward. Grade: A-.
