‘Hart of Dixie’ season 5: What we’d like to see (if renewal is possible)

Hart of dixie -Typically, it is around finale time that we like to sit around and start to speculate a little bit about what the road ahead for it could be. Unfortunately, it is not that easy to do that with “Hart of Dixie.” While it is not officially canceled by The CW, we have also been given no reason to think it will be renewed. The series actually fares just as well on Friday nights as “Reign” does on Thursdays, even without a lead-in. It also is not that far off the ratings of “Jane the Virgin” or “The 100,” to  which both aired during the week right after stronger shows as a lead in.

We’ve already given you a pretty good laundry list of reasons why the show should be renewed at the link here, so what we are here to do with this article is ask another question: What else could the series bring to the table to keep fans interested and maybe even bring in new viewers? What story is left to tell, presuming that we have a pretty complete ending to everything Friday night?

Just because a couple gets together and is relatively happy doesn’t mean the story ends or that it has to get boring. You can explore different challenges at work, or problems that arise out of BlueBell politics. Also, you have some other people away from our three big couples (Zoe / Wade, George / AnnaBeth, Lemon / Lavon) that still could be paired off and explored in different ways. The biggest strength of the show is its humor, and the quirks of the town. There are still many different festivals that could be had and if you are a fan of the show then you know how often things go wrong during these events.

Also, we feel like you could keep someone like Autumn Reeser (who is in the finale) around for a while to bring that fish-out-of-water feel to the town. That was one of the functions of Joel back in season 3, but the reason he did not quite work is because nobody really wanted to see Zoe with someone other than Wade.

If you give the show another 10-13 episodes, there’s plenty of story left to be told about this crazy community. Unfortunately, we just don’t think it is going to happen … pending of course a miracle. If you love “Hart of Dixie,” make your voice heard on social media or here at the site!
