‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Stephen Amell teases latest for Oliver, Felicity, Ray Palmer

Arrow -Given that it has been at least a little while since we last presented some new “Arrow” scoop on Olicity, doesn’t this feel like the perfect timing? We definitely like to think so. If you’ve been reading for a while, then you already know our stance on the pairing in the first place: We definitely want them together, but we also are aware that this is going to take time. In some ways, the longer the journey (at least so long as there is movement), the better the payoff in the end will be. That’s why we have zero opposition right now to the Ray Palmer story, since it is a part of that evolution.

Another part of that evolution is going to be Oliver realizing that in some ways, his excuses as to why he’s not with Emily Bett Rickards’ character are simply that. After all, Stephen Amell’s quote to TVLine about Wednesday night’s new episode really spells out what an internal battle for this character could be:

“Oliver’s fine with Ray and Felicity, until Oliver discovers that he’s the Atom … Because the whole reason that he can’t be with Felicity is because he has this other thing that he has to do. So if it’s just Ray Palmer, ‘Good, great. Enjoy.’ But if it’s Palmer as the Atom, then Oliver’s going to have a problem.”

Will this mean that Oliver starts to realize that he has no excuse? Maybe, but even if he does, he may have to let this relationship run his course. If he does anything to try to stop Felicity from being with Ray, it could push those two closer together, or he could run the risk of losing her forever. This could be a delicate balance for him.
