‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 1 coming to Netflix, but when?

Halt and Catch Fire -If you’ve been reading CarterMatt for some time, then you know that we are devoted fans of “Halt and Catch Fire.” Not only that, but we’ve been staunch advocates of AMC getting the show on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. If there was one problem with the first season, it was merely that not enough people really knew that the series was out there. Its title is somewhat cumbersome, and a computer drama in the 1980s is not automatically going to appeal to a sweeping audience.

However, it feels like there are many in the digital / streaming arena who would very much enjoy the series, and we are proud to share with them now one simple date: April 8. According to Entertainment Weekly, that is when the show is going to jump aboard the service and start streaming the entire first season. While we’d love for the show to be on literally tomorrow, this is not a bad date, either. Given that it is most likely not going to premiere until either the very end of May / early June, that’s almost two months of time for new viewers to catch up before catching the show live. It’s far better than only having a week or to do so. Given that there are only 10 episodes in the series to date, that should also make it fairly easy. If the premise of the show doesn’t excite you, maybe you’ll know and love Lee Pace from “Pushing Daisies,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” or “The Hobbit.”

AMC has already shown to reap the benefits of Netflix a great deal. This is one of the major reasons why “Breaking Bad” became a commercial hit, and it helped to boost “The Walking Dead” to yet another level. While shows like “Hell on Wheels” and “Mad Men” have not hit the same ratings stratosphere, we do certainly think that they have also benefited. “Better Call Saul” could be the latest series to do so.

Whenever a season 2 premiere date is announced, you better believe we’ll have it for you here. For now, just head over here to see some of the latest news!
