‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 18 preview: When will Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, cast return?

Vampire Diaries -Let’s hope that you enjoyed the story of Thursday night’s “The Vampire Diaries” episode a great deal. After all, you’re not going to be seeing another installment on the air for a little while longer!

The next new episode of the show does not currently have a title, but we can at least tell you its air date right now: Thursday, April 16. Why the long wait? It’s really as simple as the show making sure that you have a variety of great episodes throughout the months of April and May. This way, there will be new episodes every Thursday until the finale airs on May 14. That’s a chance to really build up momentum, and hopefully deliver a finale that is worth all of the hype and the time.

The fun thing about the promo below is that it does make it clear that Lily Salvatore is going to be back in the present, which is hugely important for Caroline and Stefan in particular. Why? With her arrival, Paul Wesley’s character will be forced to confront what he is now, and she can work to get that ripper part of his personality at bay. Given that she has a history of being one herself, nobody really knows better than her.

Also, it may take Stefan a little while to stop reeling from the shock factor of seeing her in the flesh to begin with. We definitely would, provided we were in his situation.
