‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: New poster hints at Peter Dinklage storyline

We’ve been hesitant to say too much about the Peter Dinklage storyline on “Game of Thrones” season 5, largely because we were not entirely sure how the show would present it … even if some book readers probably already had a pretty good idea.

Now that the cat is out of the bag (or in this case, the dragon is out of the bag), we can at least be a little more coy with what looks like it will be an awesome storyline: Tyrion Lannister is about pay the Mother of Dragons a visit! The new poster for the show’s April 12 premiere features him sailing seemingly towards Meereen and Dany’s kingdom, given the appearance here by none other than Drogon, her only dragon currently roaming around free at the moment. This was a hard season this past year for Dany’s dragons, given that she was forced to lock two of them away after they started to go on a rampage murdering subjects. It was not an easy choice for her, but the difficult thing for her right now is strictly that these dragons are effectively in their teenage years. They’re still trying to rebel.

As for the idea of seeing Dany and Tyrion working together, we’re thrilled about that. He could be an incredible adviser to her, depending on if he is ready to completely turn away from King’s Landing at the moment. He is smart, he is shrewd, and in many ways he is the yin to her yang. She is more of a conqueror; meanwhile, he serves as a strategist.

Hopefully, we’ll have something further to report on this pairing at some point in the near future.
