‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: New promo focuses on Brienne, Podrick

Over the past several weeks, HBO has been sending out tiny “Game of Thrones” teasers on social media through “The Sight”: A way to have virtual ravens sent to you. It was somewhat clever, especially since it was an instant notification when the latest teaser was available.

However, this did have many drawbacks, beginning of course with the fact that unless you subscribed to these, it was not always easy to find them. Also, they were typically available to view only on mobile / tablet devices, which was a further inconvenience for those of us who are still somewhat old-school when it comes to how we want to view things. Luckily, the network seems to have come up with a happy medium here. Those who subscribed had a chance to witness “The Sight” when it debuted last night, and they made some of the clips available on YouTube Friday morning.

This latest one features Brienne and Podrick, with the focus being on the latter mostly moping about when it comes to his current position. He never really wanted to be in a position of power; instead, he wanted to follow a strong, capable leader. Unfortunately for him, there are not many that are left out there in this world, and so he is forced to go about the world his own way, and alongside a knight who is being driven at this point by one simple goal: Find Arya Stark, and keep her safe.

While Jaime and Brienne will always be our favorite duo involving Gwendoline Christie’s character pending some huge shock, this story has potential.
