‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: How Emma Swan faces a new reality

Once -Is Emma Swan on “Once Upon a Time” a hero? We feel like she definitely is, and it is fairly hard to dispute that when you look solely at her resume. However, we also are well aware that this is not a world where everything is quite so cut-and-dry, and that heroes have to be heroes and nothing else for the entirety of the time in which they are around. Things can change.

Therefore, expect there to be some debate over Emma’s heroism in the second half of season 4. There was a recent promo released by ABC that teased this very subject being up for debate, and executive producer Adam Horowitz seems to be hinting at this even more in a new interview with TVLine:

“One of the big themes for the second half of the season that we want to deal with is what makes someone a hero and what makes someone a villain — what the differences are and what the common ground is. Emma has spent a long time on the series being told she’s a savior and being told she’s a hero. Now she’s going to have to face that it’s not black-and-white.”

If there is any reason to worry about Emma possibly turning over to the “dark side,” it would be simply because of the sole fact that the Queens of Darkness are about to be a major part of the show, and we’re not entirely sure what their power or pull is. Maybe they can persuade Jennifer Morrison’s character to join their cause.

Also, you have to remember that there is also quite a bit about Miss Swan that we still are in the dark about. Things can change rather easily in this world.
