‘Gotham’ star Morena Baccarin lands female lead in ‘Deadpool’ movie

Gotham -Obviously, Morena Baccarin just has a thing for comic-book adaptations these days. You already are seeing her at the moment as a recurring guest star on “Gotham,” and it is very well possible that this could turn into a series-regular role at some point in the second season.

While she has this job locked in, it appears that she’s now found a great way to spend some of her time off … which is really not going to be “time off” in the slightest. As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, she has scored the part of a currently-unnamed female lead in the upcoming “Deadpool” movie, which is going to star Ryan Reynolds. We reported previously that she was a candidate for the part, and this has obviously (and thankfully) turned into something further for her.

It is obviously great news for Morena to land this role, and we feel like it’s even good news for “Gotham.” The more people see of her in the movies, the more that people are going to hopefully going to want to watch the show. Also, it’s pretty easy for us to root for anyone who appeared in “Firefly,” which remains to us one of our favorite TV series of all time.

You may also know Baccarin for her role on “Homeland,” and she also recently appeared in a guest spot on “The Mentalist.” We are going to happen some other news on both her and this show very soon, so be sure to stay tuned for more.
