‘Gotham’ episode 16 preview: Ben McKenzie, Morena Baccarin talk circus trip (video)

There is seemingly quite a bit to look forward to on the next new episode of “Gotham” airing on Monday night. As a matter of fact, series star Ben McKenzie wants you to know one thing for sure right now: This is going to be a particularly great episode! You are going to have a shot to see quite a few dramatic twists and turns along the way, and also potential origins for at least one character.

McKenzie, alongside fellow stars Morena Baccarin (who could be a series regular next season) and Donal Logue, explain in the video below how an incident at the circus turns into much more. Also, they had out a few reminders here that you are going to see the origin story here of Dick Grayson’s parents. Robin has not been born yet, so don’t think of this as the show changing too much of the Batman canon for the sake of a quick satisfaction.

Also in this preview, you get just another instance of that Joker laugh. While we know that the partial origins of this character will be explored this season, how that will happen has not necessarily been revealed. Maybe we are going to meet a character who ends up being a mentor of sorts for the mysterious Clown Prince of Crime, or maybe it is a relative or a friend. Regardless, we just hope that it is not so ridiculous or on-the-nose that much of the mystery surrounding him is soon gone.
