‘Gotham’ episode 16 video: The Flying Graysons make their debut

Gotham -Over the past year and a half, “Gotham” has proven itself to be rather consistent when it comes to referencing characters in the Batman universe. Sometimes, we have found this level of inclusion to be really fun, and a cool addition to the show. However, at other points we have found it to be a little more grating. Why do you need to be so on the nose with it all of the time?

For example, we bring you the video below. We know that Robin probably will exist within this world someday, so you really don’t need to see the Flying Graysons right now for that to have an impact. With this being said, though, we’ll at least give them some credit and say that this is not the worst Gotham City reference that we’ve seen on the show. Instead, we would argue that this honor goes more to some of the riddles that we’ve received from Edward Nygma.

First of all, you should know here that Dick Grayson has not even been born yet at the time of this preview, so there is nothing obvious in here about Robin himself. Also, it seems to tie in somewhat to the story. Lee and Gordon are attending the circus on a date, when the entire show gets deranged by a particularly evil clown.

We could go on another rant here about clowns always being portrayed as evil these days, but this once again does make some sense in the world of the show. After all, isn’t the Joker the Clown Prince of Crime?

What do you think about this sneak at the Graysons: Is it cool, or far too early, for your taste?
