‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 star Jesse Williams ‘okay’ after All-Star Celebrity Game injury
There are occasionally some headlines we expect out of the NBA’s annual All-Star Celebrity Game, but we certainly did not expect to see one of the players suffer a pretty nasty injury.
In the Vine clip at this link, you can see “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams suffer what is a pretty nasty injury during the game, as his knee bends basically in a way in which it really should not. He was taken out of the game after that understandably, but the good news here, per Instagram after the fact, is that he seems to be all right … at least to a certain extent. He did claim that he was “seriously injured,” though.
For those of you who are very sensitive to everything when it comes to “Grey’s Anatomy,” we’re sure that Jesse will be fine and back at work there soon enough. It’s typically fairly easy to write in an injury to a show, at least so long as it’s not something that causes him to be holed up somewhere for weeks on end.
Before that injury happened, it was all smiles for us, and Jesse was playing pretty well in the game! It was actually pretty nice to see him out there given what his character Jackson went through on the ABC show last night. It cut the divide between fiction and reality, and gave us a little bit of dose of something fun. These sort of freak injuries just happen sometime. (As someone who’s broken a bone in a random sports contest, we sympathize.)

He told Mike Greenberg he tore his acl, mcl and miniscus. It will take surgery, possibly multiple surgeries and months of rehab.
