ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4, episode 12 spoilers: Mama Pope returns in ‘Gladiators Don’t Run’

Have you missed Khandi Alexander on “Scandal“? Well, the good news is that you will be seeing her once again as Olivia Pope’s mom soon! This appearance is even going to happen sooner than you would expect, given that she is going to be a part of “Gladiators Don’t Run,” the new episode airing on Thursday night.

In case you are wondering why this episode is not entitled “Full Circle,” it’s because ABC decided to change up the name at the last minute. Also, the synopsis below gives you a better sense as to what is going to be taking place this week. Remember that Ian is going to use Kerry Washington’s character as a bargaining chip to make him a heck of a lot of money:

“As the gladiators watch from a far, countries around the world begin to bid on Olivia Pope. Meanwhile, Andrew and Fitz go toe to toe.”

This episode will, as expected given the synopsis, feature a guest appearance from Jon Tenney. Also, Portia de Rossi will be back once again as Elizabeth North. Her story is something that we feel is still not even close to being played out completely. We’d campaign for her to be series regular, even though this would be less time for her to do more work on “Arrested Development.” We’re still desperate to see that happen, just in case you were even remotely wondering.
