ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4, episode 11 preview: Olivia Pope challenges Ian

How far is President Fitzgerald Grant willing to go for Olivia Pope? This is the question and the theme at the center of Thursday night’s new episode of “Scandal.” He is the man who is now in control of Olivia’s freedom, since it does not feel like anyone else is completely capable of trying to protect her from Ian and whatever nefarious plot is being put into place.

Despite us finding the sneak peek video below to be very entertaining and full of dramatic tension, we still admit that we are worried about tonight’s episode. The winter premiere “Run” was polarizing. Some out there loved it, whereas some others out there hated it. We didn’t feel that strongly towards it in a negative way, but it did feel like an hour created just to give Kerry Washington a great chance at an Emmy. There really wasn’t that much of it that we would consider to be necessary, and the whole “Ian’s not really a good guy” twist is something that we could tell was coming a mile away.

Where this story will start to become even more interesting to us is when there is a little more information released on some of the details. Specifically, we are thinking here in terms of how Fitz feels about everything and what the Gladiators are trying to do to help her. It feels like we only got a small window into this world last time.
