‘The Bachelor’: Santa Fe not entirely thrilled with Chris Soules episode

Chris Soules -It is not often that we actually hear reports about a location courting a show like “The Bachelor” to visit, and it is with that in mind we were very interested to see how Santa Fe was represented on Monday night’s new episode of the show. There was $50,000 invested in getting an episode set in the city, and what did they get for that investment? Megan Bell at one point thought that it was in another country, and in one incredibly embarrassing moment, it was revealed that someone in the editing room thought that the city was named “Sante Fe.”

We feel like the video below from KRQE is an interesting segment to watch, since it shows you some of the disappointment that many feel about the way that the show portrayed the city, including that there was not much of the actual location in there, and that you had so many people seemingly clueless on both the front and back end of how to promote it.

In the end, what we wonder is this: Is “The Bachelor” really the best place to advertise for a romantic getaway? We feel like it may be in the event you are going somewhere like a tropical island or a faraway destination, but it is hard when you are still in the United States. It also didn’t help that for two of the dates Monday night, most of the focus was not on the location but on storylines between the people on the show. The hot-air balloon trip with Britt Nilsson and Chris Soules is the only one that really focused on the scenery.

As we said recently in our CarterMatt “Bachelor” podcast, at least now New Mexico now is known for something beyond “Breaking Bad” (which was filmed and set in Albuquerque).
