‘Heroes: Reborn’: Zachary Quinto officially not joining NBC continuation
While “Heroes: Reborn” may have a number of notable names in its cast like Zachary Levi and Jack Coleman, it is looking a little like it will have to do without not having one of its most well-known people from the original show.
Speaking to BuzzFeed while at the Sundance Film Festival, another famous Zachary in Zachary Quinto confirmed that he is not going to be going back to the show, which is airing this summer and going into production later this year. Why is that? It doesn’t seem to be anything other than a matter of personal choice, and him not really having much of an interest in going back to play the Sylar character. He is still grateful that he had the chance to do it, but feels like it is time to move forward:
“I’m not going back. [Creator] Tim [Kring] reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such a meaningful experience for me. I just felt like I didn’t want to go back to it.
“Tim was very, very understanding … I’m thrilled that they’re doing it. I’m thrilled that Jack Coleman is going back to it. It’s a great thing to be a part of. I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself.”
We definitely understand that, given that Quinto has made a real effort to try to avoid these sort of psychopathic characters following both this show and what he did on “American Horror Story: Asylum.” While there would be a good bit of excitement that could come out of this role, it’s for the best. As great as Sylar was in the first season, there is a massive part of us that still wishes that is when the did away with his character. He never lived up to the greatness after that.
