‘The Bachelor’: Chris Soules defends keeping Ashley Salter after three weeks

Every season on “The Bachelor,” it feels like there is one person who becomes the subject of much conversation, and occasionally also much hate, for their actions. In the early going, Ashley Salter appears to be that woman. What is interesting about her is that she does not necessarily seem like she is a terrible person, but she just has these moments where you wonder whether or not she really has herself together. Is she completely bonkers, or just on another level?

Based on what we are hearing now from Chris Soules himself, the real answer here is that she may just be the victim of editing. As he said to TV Guide in an article posted after Monday night’s new episode, there is more to her than we are really getting to see:

“Ashley is interesting … Obviously she’s beautiful, but she did have her crazy moment — or moments. I talked to her after [last week’s] rose ceremony to find out what was going on with her, and she apologized and explained that she’s having a hard time with the whole situation. She’s really a cute, funny, smart girl that I saw something in. Just like I don’t see everything else that goes on, the viewers don’t get to see everything either. So yes, she’s a great girl, but she’s got some craziness with her.”

Could there still be something more to comer from her? We would say to expect so, given that we have her as basically a 0% chance to win the show. Not only is she just a little too out there, but it feels like Chris would not be saying some of these things if she actually was the recipient of the final rose.
