‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ review: Kate Gosselin’s hair, Geraldo Rivera, and a coffee conundrum

Geraldo -The moment that we first heard the name Chock Full o’ Nuts, we knew almost immediately that this was the perfect opportunity for an episode of “The Celebrity Apprentice” to shine. After all, they’ve had plenty of crazy people on this show for years!

The objective here was to create a viral video for the coffee company, and what we got as a result was a real viral video from Leeza Gibbons’ team, and then a commercial from Lorenzo Lamas. He did do a much better job showing off the brand, but it was an old-fashioned commercial. Other than seeing Geraldo Rivera sing and dance, there wasn’t anything about this that the internet would be interested in.

The problem with Lorenzo was that he did put himself in a position where if his team lost, he was really the only person who could end up going home. He controlled the majority of the task, and there were not many other mistakes. The only line of defense he had was going at Kate Gosselin, mostly because it took a long time for her hair to be done.

The writing was on the wall for Lorenzo here, though; he was done, and he knew it. He decided that he wanted to fall on his own sword more than go through the drama. This was the second straight predictable firing by Donald Trump, but what are you going to do? If Lorenzo (who really came off pretty well on the show) knew that he was the one to go, sometimes it is better to just bite the bullet and exit stage left. He didn’t want to look like he was selling out his team. Grade: B-.
