‘Chicago PD’ season 2 spoilers: The role of Robert Knepper in ‘Chicago Fire’ crossover

Chicago PD -We’ve never made or love Robert Knepper a secret, mostly because it is one of those things that you’d be ridiculous to not celebrate. The man was awesome in “Prison Break,” was the best part of “Heroes” season 4, and he has been very strong on “Arrow” and “The Flash” as the Clock King.

So who is he playing within the world of “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD“? Given his tendency for playing somewhat-sinister characters, you should not be altogether shocked to hear the news that he may be playing the new principal suspect in the death of Leslie Shay. This is a storyline that was set up on last week’s “Chicago Fire,” but you are going to have to wait until Tuesday, February 3 and the following day to see it play out here. We shared already the official synopsis from the “Chicago Fire” side of things, so why not move over to “Chicago PD” now? Take a look below for some of the details:

“Antonio (Jon Seda) and his sister Gabriela (guest star Monica Raymund) go to the office of Elliot Gish (guest star Robert Knepper), the man they believe started the fire that killed Shay. Intelligence along with patrol officers Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Roman (Brian Geraghty) put pressure on Gish to try and make him confess. Lindsay (Sophia Bush) approaches Voight (Jason Beghe) about returning to Intelligence when she realizes that the task force isn’t what she thought it would be. At the same time Desk Sgt. Platt (Amy Morton) is acting strange and has everyone curious as to why she’s being overly cheery, friendly and nice.”

We feel almost like we are not even leading off here with what may the big news to the diehard “Chicago PD” fans, and that is the news that Lindsay will be trying to make her way back to Intelligence again. We do figure that this will happen eventually, even if it does not happen here. After all, there’s zero chance that she wants to stick with a group that plays by government rules, and does not really take care of those it helps.
