‘Chicago Fire’ season 3 spoilers: How Taylor Kinney’s Severide will investigate Shay’s death

Severide -The third season of “Chicago Fire” has taken already a variety of different twists and turns, but we are going to have a chance to see some of the most substantial ones of all in early February, which is when the NBC show is going to kick things off with the first part of an epic crossover event. At the center of it is one basic question: What happened to Leslie Shay? Throughout this installment, we are going to slowly find out the answer … but not without a whole lot of work first.

“Three Bells” is the title for the February 3 episode, which will be the first part of the event. The synopsis below specifically teases that Severide will be front and center in uncovering the truth, while the arrival of Shay’s sister in Chicago is going to be putting almost everyone in a nostalgic / somber mood:

“More clues surface surrounding the fire that killed Shay, leading Severide (Taylor Kinney) to a most unexpected source who may be able to provide pertinent information. Meanwhile, Shay’s sister Megan (guest star Ellen Woglom) comes to town, prompting members of the firehouse to remember Shay’s life. Elsewhere, Cruz (Joe Minoso) is in for a surprise when Otis’s (Yuri Sardarov) grandmother moves into their apartment, while Boden finds a way to help his dying father (guest star Richard Roundtree) make the most of his last few weeks.”

By the time that “Chicago PD” concludes this crossover, we will be particular surprised if there are not answers regarding what happened here. It is nice to see that the series continues to hold Shay as a character close, but sooner or later, we assume that the series does want to have everyone move on.
