‘Chicago PD’ season 2 spoilers: Sophia Bush on Lindsay arc

Lindsay -Chicago PD” and “Chicago Fire” were both the focus in their own way of the TCA Winter Press tour Friday, and this allowed the casts of both shows to discuss a little bit about the stories that they are each in the process of getting out there.

For the time being, let’s start with the former. How did the show decide to send off Lindsay to work with the task force? This is obviously something that she has gotten a little bit disillusioned with over time, thanks to their treatment of CIs, but it does seem like it was born out of a smart, shrewd place for her. Speaking per TVLine, Sophia Bush said using the task force, the show implemented the notion of “looking for the next thing,” so that Lindsay could figure out for herself if there was a way to get better.

Ultimately, we have a feeling that Lindsay is not going to be away from the world of the PD for very long at all, given that her feelings for Halstead have to be accelerating now after their sudden hookup at the end of the last episode, which we feel was in part spurned by her disillusionment. The one issue we see? Voight’s policy on relationships within Intelligence, given that the two clearly waited to get together until the moment struck and they were not a part of the same unit anymore.

While Erin has some significant decisions to come, there’s also a huge story coming up in a couple of weeks: A “Chicago Fire” crossover episode where we try to figure out what really happened to the building where Leslie Shay died. We’ll have more on that soon.
