‘Chicago PD’ season 2, episode 12: What’s next for Sophia Bush, Jesse Lee Soffer’s characters?

Chicago PD -Tonight was clearly a big episode of “Chicago PD,” and it was definitely that was for Lindsay and Halstead. After quite a bit of time in the will-they-or-won’t-they business, the two got together right when Lindsay was feeling disenfranchised by her job with the task force. This hookup changes the course of their relationship, but also potentially even more than that. Given how Sophia Bush’s character feels about her new job, we could see her leaving and going back to Intelligence. In turn, this could be trouble for her and Halstead if they actually end up together.

Unfortunately, NBC is being somewhat coy about what is explicitly coming up in “Disco Bob,” the new episode airing on the network next week and the last one airing in January. Instead, most of the details out there are about other characters (including Burgess after deciding against a promotion). The only significant Lindsay detail comes near the end of the synopsis below, which suggests that she could be stationed away from Halstead for a very long time:

“Bob Ruzek (guest star Jack Coleman) is the first to arrive on the scene of a double murder. Intelligence arrives to take over the investigation tensions arise as Bob needs to hand over the case to his son (Patrick Flueger) and Voight (Jason Beghe). Lindsay’s (Sophia Bush) new gig has her planning a trip to Bolivia for an undercover investigation that could be for an extended amount of time. Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Roman (Brian Geraghty) realize they need to put past events behind them so it doesn’t jeopardize them going forward.”

In theory, it is possible she could be shipped away … but we doubt it. Nobody wants to really see her separated from the team, and Bush is too important to the cast to lose.
