‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 12 video: Another look at Julianna Margulies in ‘The Debate’

Well, if you want some more evidence as to why Julianna Margulies should win all the awards for her role as Alicia Florrick on “The Good Wife,” let the new sneak peek below serve as concrete evidence. In this one, she basically puts a reporter during her State’s Attorney debate in his place, largely because he seemed interested in turning what is meant to be some sort of serious discourse into a tabloid.

Basically, he was getting ready to set her up with some sort of “blindside question” about her husband’s infidelity, and how this could impact her run for the position in any way. Alicia then proceeds to completely destroy him, in particular making it clear that he is bringing up things that are completely irrelevant to what is the actual focus of the campaign: Running for a position that is designed to help cut the crime rate in Chicago. She’s not running on any other position, and does not appreciate her private life being spilled like blood all over the stage.

Does the reporter have any legitimate leg to stand on? You can say that due to her husband’s infidelity, her own life is so chaotic that it would not make for the optimal environment for her to do this job. Still, that would be wrong. That is basically saying that anyone with a life filled with stress to a certain degree should not be allowed to hold a powerful position.

The only thing that ultimately makes watching this sneak peek even stranger? Seeing Peter, right after being raked through the coals, celebrate how Alicia handles herself in response to this question.
