If you thought that Castle was going to take his quick dismissal from the NYPD well, we wonder if you have really been watching “Castle” all that long! Rick is a man who wants what he wants, and his reasons for being involved in crime-solving are threefold. One, he wants to spend time with his now-wife on the job. Also, he wants to do research for his mystery novels. Above all else, though, we think that there is a Walter White-esque sort of “I do it for me and I like it” sort of motivation behind this. He gets a kick out of being out in the field making things happen, and that compels him Monday night to do some crazy stuff.
Specifically, the sneak peek video below makes it clear that it compels him to get a license as a private investigator, that way he can get out and solve some cases on his own. The problem? This doesn’t mean that he gets to spend time working with the police. The scene below is a fun one for Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic’s characters, though Castle does not quite get what he wants out of it. Instead, he finds himself being booted from the crime scene while they continue to do their work.
We understand if you were to say that there is some unsympathetic behavior going on here from the detectives, but ultimately, we understand that to a certain degree. Why? It’s all due to the mere fact that they want to keep their own jobs!
While Castle may be bummed out to be left in the cold, don’t count the guy out. We’ve learned that he can be very resourceful.
