‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 12 spoilers: ‘The Enemy Within’ and the Michael Weatherly mystery
“NCIS” fans, prepare for an episode next week that presents quite a mystery. With that being said, one of the most interesting things about this mystery is that we’re talking about something from Tony DiNozzo’s personal life, and not something related to a case here.
“The Enemy Within” is the title for this 12th installment of the season, and there will be a traditional problem for the NCIS team to solve. In addition to this, we’re going to gave McGee and Bishop trying to figure out what Michael Weatherly’s character may be hiding from them. If you haven’t seen it already, take a look at the short synopsis below:
“The NCIS team searches for a home-grown terrorist after a rescue mission in Syria reveals an American was involved in the capture of a social worker. Meanwhile, McGee and Bishop question DiNozzo’s unusual behavior.”
Is this tied in some way to his romantic life? It is reasonably to wonder that, given that it has already been reported that Marisol Nichols will be coming back in this episode as Zoe Keates, his former colleague from Philadelphia who could become a potential love interest for him. There’s no guarantee of that, but it is something to keep watch on.
As a matter of fact, it is really the only thing to keep watch on when it comes to this episode right now. After all, there isn’t another hook with this story at the moment, or another notable guest star beyond her that we’re aware of at present. As we get a little further in the week, it’s possible more information will be unveiled. (Update: More was unveiled by the end of tonight’s episode, where it was made clear via cliffhanger that we may just be picking off where we left off … with the operating term being “may.”)

I’m playing a wait and see game before I judge this one. I was really surprised in how the episode “Check” went. The twist and irony of Gibb’s ex-wife getting killed the same way as Kate and Sergei seems to be behind it all. So now, maybe we’ll start to see how it all ties up finally and maybe Zoe will have a role in that. We don’t know yet. I hope whatever the mystery is for Tony is that it is something with a real surprise and as others have mentioned he isn’t just the comic relief. Something could have happened to him back in Philly days that caused him to up and leave – whether it involves Zoe we don’t know. There was a hint of something in the last episode she was in. I might be wrong but I have the feeling that we are in for some good surprises. I think we just have to be a bit more patient. With Sergei having a connection to Ari Haswari I’m also waiting to see if that will involve Ziva in anyway. MW and GG did mention in an earlier article that the possibility for the two characters to cross paths was there and there would be fireworks so I’m convinced that there is something afoot and we will get one hell of a surprise later. NCIS is slowly finding its footing after last year’s crash with Cote leaving. She is open to a return, we all know that so we’ll just have to wait and see.

I don’t believe Tony will ever marry, or be seriously involved with anyone. Like Ducky, who lost his great love, he’ll be alone.

Nah, Tony’s gonna sail off into the sunset with Gibbs on their boat “Love Taps”. ?

This whole Tony romance is a boatload of crap! My wife and daughters are all TIVA fans and I never had a problem with it because it was no stupid onscreen romance but this one will be!
Nichols was awful in her first episode! The “sexual tension” couldn’t be more of a joke!
NCIS used to be a character driven show about crimes within the Navy but I guess the producer doesn’t even know what a ship or good entertainment is!
I don’t know if the producers or writers of a once great show have changed but they are doing a very bad job in season 12!

Really? The Tiva fauxmance was pushed almost every single episode in season 10, often to the detriment of the storyline. Nearly every episode had some guest character telling either Tony or Ziva that they were obviously meant to be together, which is funny because if there was chemistry it shouldn’t have to be pointed out over and over and over again.

I’m with sadtonyfan. They aren’t very creative she’s a Ziva clone. This show IMO gets worse every week. Depending on how next week goes it may be my last episode.

Oh let me guess. Tony will provide the evening’s self humiliating comic relief while everyone else contributes to the case and smirks at Tony’s idiocy. Meanwhile super Gibbs will brood and take on all danger. Sucks to be a Tony fan.
