‘Blue Bloods’ season 5, episode 10 review: Will Jamie back Eddie’s hunches?

Blue Bloods season 5It’s been a while since we’ve had any new programming due to the holiday season, so we couldn’t be happier to have a new episode of “Blue Bloods” tonight. There was a lot going on in tonight’s episode so let’s dive right in and see what happened!

Frank is giving out promotions to officers in a ceremony when he recognizes an officer’s father (Donald) and detains him. Donald is wanted in the connection of a police shooting 30 years ago, and 3 generations of Reagan’s have been trying to find him (with Henry as the only witness). The man denies  (of course) that he killed the officer and was on the run because he knew that no one would believe his side of the story. When Erin starts asking Henry questions about the case, he gets many of the details wrong and she suggests to Frank that they look for a deal since Henry will fall apart on the witness stand. Frank of course doesn’t want to do that and goes to the son he gave the promotion to, asking him to get a truthful confession out of Donald. He decides to do it and he gets the confession from his father on tape.

Jamie and Eddie are dealing with a man who hit a young girl with a car… or did he? Eddie is not convinced that the person found in the driver’s seat is actually the driver and even has a witness saying that it was someone else. Jamie doesn’t believe her and the detective in charge won’t entertain this idea at all. Later Jamie digs a little deeper and realizes that the son was the real driver, not the father.

The story that really pulled us in the most tonight was the Jaime/Eddie situation. They have been partner’s a while and there’s obviously a deeper relationship going on, so seeing Jamie question Eddie when she really needed him to back her up was pretty gut wrenching. Episode grade: C+
