Just in case you don’t get enough of Stephen Amell on “Arrow” as Oliver Queen, you can now get a more relaxed look at the real man under the hood in “Dudes Being Dudes in Wine Country.”
This is a new web series, coming this March, that features Amell and his friend Andrew Harding (the two own Nocking Point Wines) taking a trip across wine country to see so much of what the region has to explore. What seems great to us about the show right now is this: We’re not a wine expert by any means. We cannot tell you the difference between some of the different varieties other than their color. This show doesn’t seem to be made for wine snobs. Instead, it feels crafted more towards people who want to watch a little bit of travel, some fun banter between some guys, and also learn about wine in the process.
This is somewhat of a passion project for Amell, given that he already has a fantastic job over on the CW series that keeps him busy for the vast majority of the year. He has a few months off in the summer to pursue other projects, and then a few weeks here and there, such as the hiatus he is on right now for the holidays.
Ultimately, “Arrow” is a heck of a platform for him to do something like this, and filming it could make some sense given his travel schedule. For example, why not hit up a convention in a given city, and then film a segment for this show?
