Best of 2014 results: ‘Arrow’ fans run away with Best Fanbase honor

Best Fanbase -Arrow” fans, we come bearing good news on this Christmas Eve: You most certainly did not fail this city in the voting for Best Fanbase in the CarterMatt Awards!

We will at least say that the voting here was close for the award temporarily. When we started this category two weeks ago, “Faking It” was giving the CW series a good run for its money, but the MTV comedy eventually could not hold its own against Oliver Queen and one of the most dedicated groups of fans of any show. “Arrow” ended up winning with a whopping 72% of the vote, which is the biggest blowout we’ve had all year and quite possibly ever in the CarterMatt Awards. When you remember that there are five nominees, this show beat all of the others combined, even when you double their vote totals.

Arrow -So why are “Arrow” fans so passionate for their show? We feel that a major reason for it is strictly that the show seems to be just as passionate back. Stephen Amell and many other cast members are popular on the convention circuit, and make a concentrated effort to meet and talk with people. Everyone from the production to the writers are as open as they possibly can be to the fans.

Also, you’re working off some great source material here! The “Arrow” team has done a great thing in capturing the spirit of the comic books, but were also willing to change things up just enough to give their creation here its own, separate identity.

Three seasons in, the show is still as strong as ever, and given the ratings and the global support, we don’t see Oliver’s adventures ending anytime soon.

We’ll be back reviewing and podcasting “Arrow” early next year, but for now, sign up to get some other TV news sent to you via our CarterMatt Newsletter. You can also see below a list of our other awards categories and results.
