‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: Sean Murray on hopes for Delilah return
One of the good things about the McGee character on “NCIS” is that he is so likable, it is pretty easy to root for him with almost anyone, at least provided that this person is not terrible and awful to him. Therefore, we root for him and Abby, and we also root for him and Delilah. We like both characters; ultimately, we’d just like to see more of the latter.
While Margo Harshman has not been spotted at all this season due to her character being in Dubai, we still get the inclination that she and McGee are still together. It would just be nice to actually have her around again for an episode, and Sean Murray seems to agree. Speaking to TV Guide, the actor, fresh off of an emotional episode last night involving his father, shared his thoughts:
“I’m sure we’re going to see more of her … I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see her this season. … I like [McGee] and Delilah together. … It’s fun and I think it’s a side of McGee we don’t get to see very often. Usually the only love life he’s got is what’s going on with Abby that week.”
Our guess is that maybe she will surface for an episode airing a little later in the spring, mostly because we feel like Murray would know whether or not we were seeing her in one of the first episodes airing next year. The first “NCIS” episode back comes on January 6, and it will revolve around in part Jeri Ryan as Gibbs’ mysterious second ex.

I agree. I really like Margo and also agree that her character is more comfortable around Tony. He called her “Wheels” as a nickname in one episode. McGee is overdue for some true love. I hope that she comes back or Tim gets a better love interest if Margo isn’t interested in returning.
A blast from his past like they’ve done with Dinozzo and Zoe Keates would be fun. It could be an old IT school mate or something.

While I like Delilah, I’m meh about her relationship with Tim. I liked it at first, when she showed up during the Harper Dearing arc, but it almost seemed like – to me at least – after the explosion Tim was staying with her out of a sense of guilt, rather than love. I thought she had a much better rapport with Tony than she does with Tim (note: not a sexual or romantic rapport; they just seem more comfortable around each other).
I would have really liked to see them develop (or even mention!) the relationship with Max the gamer/laser tag enthusiast. I miss geeky “Elf Lord” McGee, and I think we would have seen more of him with Max.

Poor McGee… he just can’t catch a romantic break! And frankly, I think an intensive background check should be his first move with anyone he finds even marginally appealing. I like Delilah all right but she lacks a spark. They need to play against the norm, write an older love interest for McGee. They do it all the time for female characters; why not have the May-December match go the opposite direction for once?

I didn’t sense much chemistry between McGee and Delilah. McGee just doesn’t click with everyone and I was never convinced that he had any passion for her even though I liked her character. I think that they paralyzed her character for shock value and then sent her to Dubai which was just kind WTF. They promised way more than they delivered and seemed to have written themselves into another corner.
