‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: How James Spader, Ron Perlman may collide
The Super Bowl episode of “The Blacklist” is just under two months to wait, and there’s no other way to put it: That is a very long time to wait for new episodes to air.
So will this wait be worth it? We’re just going to have to wait and see, but the show seems interested in created the optimal episode for Super Bowl entertainment. It is largely going to be a standalone story, designed in a way to lure in new viewers while keeping the ones that they already have. Not only that, but it is being cultivated to provide one of the most surprising viewing environments possible.
According to a new report from TV Guide, one of the biggest surprises for the episode, at least in the early going, could be seeing Raymond Reddington (James Spader) get kidnapped. This is a man who typically specializes in doing the kidnapping, threatening, and just about anything else to prove to the universe that he is in charge. He is very good at it, as well. Nobody plays off being super-intimidating quite like he does.
Of course, there may be something deeper here, and that could include Reddington trying to be more than a little bit creative in his attempts to stop Ron Perlman’s character, who is being billed as potentially the villain of the episode. Maybe he gets intentionally kidnapped, tries to infiltrate his inner circle, and then uses that glorious Reddington combination of anecdotes and charm in order to survive.
Anything is possible with Red … and with this show. Remember that Liz kept her ex-husband Tom a prisoner for months.
