NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Did Damien, Sugar Joans, or Ryan Sill take final wild-card spot?

The Voice -For some reason, “The Voice” decided to shake things up when it comes to their wild-card round further, and made the move to announce the artist with the most votes and iTunes sales to stay in the competition this morning on “The Today Show.”

So who was the lucky singer? You should in some ways be both surprised and not surprised by this reveal: Damien! He defeated the likes of eight other eliminated contestants to earn his way back into it. We didn’t think that he had the best performance on the show last night, as Sugar Joans completely killed it on “Back to Black. However, Sugar was also eliminated many weeks ago, and had DaNica Shirey completely stuck the landing, she may have been able to use her spot at the end of the show to overtake Damien.

Regardless of how you describe it, the Louisiana native and TSA worker gets a chance now to compete in the finale against Craig Wayne Boyd, Matt McAndrew, and Chris Jamison. For the time being, though, we have to put the other three artists far ahead of him. With the exception of “Someone Like You,” we wouldn’t say that Damien has given a performance yet that really hit us emotionally. All of the other guys have done that at least twice so far.

We’re going to have our full contestant rankings up on Sunday, but we will say for now that Craig is pretty dangerous, given that all of Blake Shelton’s fans are going to vote for him individually to win.
