‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5, episode 13 review: Christmas brings ghosts, ‘A,’ and drama
PrettWe knew that the “Pretty Little Liars” Christmas Special would be crazy, and that it was. You’re probably not going to be thinking about Christmas the same away again after watching.
Now that we’ve said all of this, there is still another important question that needs to be asked right now: Did this episode really do the best job when it comes to bringing new things to the table? We’re going to say that when it comes to entertainment, it definitely delivered; however, this was not exactly an episode designed to unravel the many mysteries of “A.”
Instead, our biggest revelations of this night included Jenna and Sydney going undercover as Alison’s pals, mostly because they were afraid of her. The ties between Ali and Bethany Young were made clearer, as were some between Ali and Holbrook of all people. Also, Emily and Paige are probably not facing a reconciliation in the near future.
The biggest takeaway from this episode for the most part is just that Ali is clearly dangerous, but who knows? Maybe those visits from Ghost Mona changed things to a certain degree. We’re just glad that Janel Parrish was still a part of the show in some capacity.
In the end, we feel like the writers felt like they should not make the entire episode depressing, at least based on some of the sweet stuff with some of the couples near the end. This was still a great episode even if most of the mysteries are still open; if nothing else, it is a nice teaser for the rest of the season. Grade: B+.
