‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 11 (winter finale) preview: Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, and more

Over the past few weeks, “Once Upon a Time” has built to an end with this “Frozen” storyline, and that finally happened on Sunday night … sort of.

While we imagine that we are going to see Anna and Elsa at least one more before the end of the episode next week, entitled “Heroes and Villains,” we do feel like their tale is just about done. Instead, we have a new focus based on the end of the episode: Rumpelstiltskin, and his crazy plan to try to take over the world. This has been a slow burn over the course of most of this season, but we are now getting to the point where this could really be exploding outward.

Also, the promo below really highlights some of what is really going to get you excited: New villains! Ursula, Maleficent, and Cruella de Vil are all shown off in it, but we are still wondering about one little logical leap: How in the world is Maleficent still alive? The last time we saw her, things were not going so well.

Ultimately, we see the arrival of these three Disney villains as the following. They are all extremely popular and will be ratings draws, and with that Angelina Jolie movie out in theaters this past summer, someone probably realized that finding a way to revive Kristin Bauer van Straten’s role was going to be a smart thing to do.
